In this period for which I still can’t find an adjective, many of you have sent me messages of support. Then came the moment when I received a wave of messages from nurses, pharmacists, doctors, cashiers, bakers and everyone else telling me that, as a result of wearing gloves, masks and washing my hands intensively, I had raw skin, redness, skin reactions with the appearance of patches of small pimples, scabs and other dryness. So here’s what prompted me to get off my butt and put it in front of my keyboard to write you a few things:
Cracks or patches on the hands are particularly unpleasant, since we use our hands all day long. So, first of all, you need to wash your hands with cold-saponified superfatted soap, which is highly effective and, above all, very gentle for the skin on your hands. At Comette, Cocoon is the one and only soap we make and sell, because it’s just perfect. With just 3 ingredients, 100% organic, certified by Nature et ProgrĂšs, no perfume, alcohol, fragrance or preservatives, it’s ideal for baby, mom and the whole family.
Then, once your hands are clean and dry, you moisturize with a product that contains no water, no alcohol – I’m repeating myself, but it’s very important – no fragrance, no perfume, no preservatives or other irritating products (it’s time to get rid of your shower gels, cleansing creams and all those wonderful plastic containers). Choose a product with soothing, anti-bacterial, moisturizing and restorative properties. At Comette, we didn’t wait for Covid-19 to think of such a product, and I’ve been lovingly making Bobo balm for over two years, helping to heal many a “boo-boo”. For people in the medical profession and those who continue to travel to work, we apply a dab of the balm to clean hands in the evening, just before going to bed. Repeat the process in the morning, and you should find that it soothes your hands enormously within 24 hours. If you continue to apply the balm every day, you’ll find that dryness disappears, even on the roughest skin.
Its concentration of beeswax, fine lavender and immortelle make it an extremely restorative balm and a great antiseptic. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all those who work in the medical field and those who continue to enable us to live well, even when confined. Thank you to the hospital cleaners, the cashiers at the front of the line, the doctors, surgeons, nurses, the people who make masks, who cook for the hospital staff, thank you to the private nurses … in short, thank you to you, to us, for remaining confined and respecting all those affected during this pandemic and those affected by this fucking virus. Thank you for your support, thank you for your little words, your calls, your orders. I really realize how strong we are and how much we can do when we stick together and not hold hands. It’s beautiful, we’re beautiful and I promise you that we’re going to get back up, we owe it to ourselves, to the planet and to all the people who lose their lives in it.
I’ll stop here, see you soon.
Alice
