After a lot of feedback from you and lots of questions, here at last is an article dealing exclusively with the pushkar face mask and its use.
First of all, I think it’s important to explain the origin of this Ayurvedic mask.
After spending over 6 months in India, discovering so many different plants and traditions from those I knew, I thought of a mask based on the ayurvedic principles I’d discovered on my travels, adding my own knowledge and personal touch.
I kept the concept of a mask mixed with yoghurt because I thought it was a great idea. I couldn’t stand masks that were mixed with water any more, i was tugging and deserting my skin, plus after a few minutes of applying water-based masks, my skin itched a lot and when I rinsed it off, my skin was very dry, with a lot of redness.
There are many advantages to mixing a mask with yogurt:
- The mask does not dry out, so you can keep it on for as long as you like.
- Yogurts are rich in probiotics and other vitamins that stimulate the skin and have a decongestant effect.
- When the mask is removed, the skin is soft and does not require the application of balm or other skin protection.
So much for explaining the origin of the mask and the choice of yogurt.
This is obviously not an obligation, but a tip, mixing this mask with tea tree floral water can also be a superb experience but my recommendation for optimal results is the use of yogurt (goat, cow, donkey …).
Mask uses :
Each ingredient has been selected to combat acne, blackheads and other skin imperfections. I chose to use Turmeric essential oil and root powder for maximum anti-inflammatory concentration, white clay, red clay and tea tree essential oil for anti-bacterial and purifying properties; finally, sacred lotus and multani mitti powder are sacred ayurvedic ingredients with divine scents.

Directions for use :
- Take a soup spoonful of the mask
- Pour it into an earthen container (for the best results)
- Pour into the bowl half a yoghurt just taken out of the fridge (for optimum freshness).
- Blend to a uniform texture and color.
- Apply to face and neck, avoiding the eye contour area, for at least 15 minutes.
- Rinse thoroughly with cold water to tighten skin pores.
